About the speaker, Venus Mason Theus:
Venus is a native of Detroit, Michigan. She is a graduate of the University of Detroit-Mercy and has an Associate of Arts degree in Legal Administration. Venus has been a self-proclaimed Full Time Family Manager since 1996, when she relinquished her position as a corporate health system paralegal to care for her three elderly family members in addition to raising her family.
Venus cites a series of traumatic incidents which occurred over the next nine years as her reason for not completing her life long goal of writing a novel. However, when a nineteen-year-old family member was murdered in the spring of 2006, she experienced an epiphany - that drama is just an intermittent part of everyone’s life. She then committed to utilizing her dormant literary gift to edify, evangelize and entertain. Thus, the name of her publishing company is E3 Publications. By applying the seven principles of Dream Casting, Venus set – and accomplished a goal to complete her freshman project, a self-published novel entitled Brown Paper Bag, by her 50th birthday in September of 2006.
Venus has also contributed articles on family concerns in several Christian publications which include Gospel Today magazine. She and her husband, “Dr. Rick” Theus are the directors of the Uplift Family Ministry at their home church, Greater Grace Temple; and are founders and facilitators of Joy-Full Life Relationship Seminars®. .
