Building Kingdom Millionaires by Shekini Jennings for MMS Newswire

Catherine Eagan Dedicates Her Life to
Leading Christians to “The Wealthy Place”

Many people in the country are wringing their hands trying to figure out how to survive in the current struggling economy. But, Catherine Eagan is trying to help people become part of God’s thriving supernatural economy.

It’s a revelation that Eagan received in God’s perfect timing as retiring baby boomers are trying to figure out how to manage their wealth, younger people are just beginning to learn about finances, and others are discovering for the first time that retirement is no longer an option.

“In this time, people are going through a lot of different challenges,” said Eagan, a member of Word of Faith Christian Center. “It’s important to have a kingdom objective. We’re getting more in debt. The message of building wealth challenges all of us to build wealth so we can have financial the wherewithal and establish the Kingdom of God whether you’re young or old.”

Eagan is an entrepreneur, ordained minister and a former Vice President and Private Banking Officer, with a 25-year financial background.

She said the foundation for tapping into God’s economy includes giving and receiving, purpose, seedtime and harvest, tithes and offerings, and God’s principles. This opens the door for budgeting, debt elimination, credit repair, insurance planning, investment planning, and estate planning to affectively fall in line with proper instruction that can be found in Eagan’s book, “Dominating Money: Tapping Into God’s Supernatural Economy.”

“From a Biblical standpoint God wants us to provide for our family, our children, and our children’s children,” Eagan said. “There’s a difference between riches and wealth. Riches can come overnight through the lottery, but that doesn’t mean you know how to sustain it. Wealth is for the kingdom of God and … the greater good of humanity and society. Henry Ford wanted to provide a vehicle for people to ride in and came up with the process of mass production. When people meet the needs of others on a mass scale it lends itself to wealth.”

Eagan has been doing this in her own life through a balanced combination of informational clubs, books, and other merchandise and services that she sells, in addition to a 40-city Wealthy Women Seminar Tour and weekly teleseminars that she has offered for free. The tour has blessed more than 3,000 women across the country and the teleseminars draw 100 to 200 participants each week as far away as Canada and the Caribbean. She wants to make sure there is no excuse for Christians to not reach the “wealthy place” where they have successfully learned to dominate in the areas of business and finance.

Other books she has authored with her husband, Dr. J. Victor Eagan, include “How to Discover Your Purpose in 10 Days,” “How to Determine Your Motivational Gift,” and “The Character of Success.”

Eagan’s reason for doing everything she does is so that God’s people realize that wealth is for them, despite their current or past financial situation. Even someone who doesn’t have any money can go from 0 to wealth.

“John Johnson asked his mother to sell her furniture,” Eagan said. “She sold it for $500 and he started Ebony Magazine. John Rockefeller was a high school dropout, but he pursued business. Oprah Winfrey had nothing, but … now she owns Harpo production. God’s raising people who are going to be world changers.”

More life-changing, kingdom-building principles will be disclosed at the Kingdom Millionaire Intensive and Vision Gala in Boca Raton, Florida. For more information, or to register, call (561) 338-0009 or log onto www.catherineeagan.com.

Christian Fiction & African American book clubs are booming - says Denise Stinson

Denise Stinson, founder, Glory Girls (Walk Worthy Press)
Christian Book Club is Largest in the Country

In less than three years, Glory Girl™ has become the largest African American book club in the country with nearly 2000 members in 40 states as well as Germany – and they only read Christian books!

In the Amplified version of the Bible, Hebrews 12:214 directs Christians to be involved in "noble activities," said founder Minister Denise Stinson. "How noble are trashy movies? How noble is sexually explicit music? How noble is reading books that don’t glorify God?"

"I love to read good books and I had become frustrated that there was not a book club for those of us who wanted be involved with other Christians in fellowship around books that told good stories and lifted up the Name of Jesus. I began thinking about it in 19999 but it was not until 2000 I was given an assignment in bible school to create a church ministry that I really began to concentrate on how it would work."

In November 2001 Glory Girls: Reading Groups for African American Christian Women Who Love God and Like to Read made its debut with a simple purpose:

• To honor the Lord with what we read – and have a good time doing it!
• To provide and atmosphere where readers can seek fellowship with other book lovers while encouraging them in the choices they make in Godly reading materials.
• To offer readers fresh, contemporary, and entertaining yet scripturally sound fiction and nonfiction by talented Christian authors.
• To assist believers and nonbelievers in discovering the relevancy of the Bible in our contemporary, everyday lives.Every other month groups of three to 12 participants (persons of all races as well as men are welcome!), who along with a facilitator, have registered with Glory Girls™ online get together in homes, libraries, bookstores and homes to discuss a chosen book.

There are no membership dues and Glory Girls™ is careful to choose books that can be found in libraries so that anyone who wants to glorify God with what they read can participate. An important part of the Glory Girls ministry are the reading group questions found on the website, www.glorygirlsread.net.

Although each questions is relevant to the story there is also a biblical citation that leads the reader back to the Word of God. The questions, say Stinson, help readers stay focused no on the problem or situation the character is in but on the Word of God."This is ministry," says Stinson.

"We try to make it clear that although we may be considered a book club there is nothing exclusive or "clubbish" about us. We have gotten dozens of emails from women in these groups who joined not knowing anyone else and have been prayed for, spiritually supported and encouraged to find good church homes. Several have accepted Jesus Christ as their Savior during a meeting. One group in Atlanta that meets at a restaurant even led their waitress to Christ!"

Book Marketing Budgeting

Budgeting for Your Book Marketing BY MARKETABILTY.COM CONSULTANTS

How Much to Invest in Your Book and What It Means to Your Workload

When you think of your budget for your book, start to think in terms of both time and money. You will be spending both on your book. There is no right or wrong budget as long as it works with your pocketbook, your daily calendar and your expectations.

The Blunt Bottom Line:

How much money you are ABLE to invest will tell youhow much time you will HAVE to invest. How much of each you DO invest will control how many books you sell.
We will assume that you want to effectively market your book over the course of ONE YEAR.

In that time you will accomplish all of the marketing for the initial launch of your book.
After the first year you can then decide whether to continue marketing this book or to move on to your next one. In the scenarios listed below you can adjust the time spent per week IF you also adjust how long it will take to finish your marketing.

If you have less than $1,000 to invest in marketing, you will be using only the low or no-cost marketing tools. Your time is your greatest asset, plan on investing it liberally. All aspects of strategy and implementation will fall into your hands. You should allocate at least 40 hours per week to handle all of the strategy and implementation.

If 40 hours per week is not possible to do, then adjust the length of time you will take to market your book. If you can put in 20 hours per week, then plan on taking TWO YEARS to finish your marketing.

If you have between $1,000 and $5,000 to invest in marketing, you will need to plan to do most of the marketing yourself. You’re going to be able to use some of the low-cost tools we’ve shown you but will not be able to hire on professionals to implement your campaign. Again, plan to allocate a significant portion of time towards strategizing and implementing your marketing.
In this case, allocate at least 30 hours per week.

If you have between $5,000 and $10,000 to invest in marketing, you can probably hire out one key component of your marketing implementation and reduce the amount of time you are required to put into the marketing efforts. You will still need to invest plenty of time strategizing and implementing your marketing. At this level of monetary investment you can expect to spend at least 20 hours per week with strategy and implementation.

If you have between $10,000 and $20,000 to invest in marketing, you can hire out a few more aspects of your marketing implementation. On the higher end of that budget you can get most implementation covered. You will still be investing time in the strategic coordination of your campaign. With this budget you can allocate 10 hours per week for strategic coordination of your marketing efforts.

If you have between $20,000 and $50,000 to invest in marketing, you can hire out almost all aspects of your marketing implementation. You should still plan on handling the strategic coordination of your campaign. Allocate at least 5 hours per week for strategy.

If you have more than $50,000 to invest in marketing, you can hire out everything, including the strategic coordination. Any amount less than $50,000 will not afford you to hire out the strategy as well as the implementation. With this investment you can hire professionals to do their job and go back to writing knowing you have everything covered.

Since the strategic coordination is obviously the last thing you can hire out, then it stands to reason it is the first thing you should learn, regardless of your budget. Whether or not you plan on handling the implementation of your book marketing you need to know what needs to be done and who can help you do it.

Ways to Fund Your Book Marketing
Ideally, you have money already set aside to fund your book marketing. It is allocated specifically for this function, sitting in an account ready to be put into action. However, if that is not the case you may be wondering how to fund your marketing. Here are some of the common ways that other authors and publishers do it.

Credit Card / Line of Credit The most common way we see authors funding their campaigns is with a credit card. It is probably the simplest way to do it. As always with credit cards, be aware of the interest rate you are being charged.
Home Equity LoanWhile it may be more paperwork upfront, it will certainly save on the interest rate. It is also likely to be a tax deduction personally. (But of course check with your accountant on that.)

Investors Finding someone else to fund the marketing is also something we see quite often. These investors can be family, friends or actual venture capitalists. Be aware that these folks will want to see a business plan including a full marketing plan and financial estimates. See our Book Marketing Profit System for a template book marketing plan. (WWW.MARKETABILILTY.COM)

Tapping into 401K / IRA / College FundFrankly, this source of funding is the one that makes us cringe. Not only are you betting your retirement or your kid’s college funding on the success of your book, you are also paying taxes on the money you take out, thereby substantially increasing the amount of money you are actually investing. Please consider very carefully before utilizing this option.

Using Book Sales to Pay for Marketing Sounds good in theory, but it simply will not work. You must invest something to get started. You can then re-invest your book sales revenue into more marketing, but the first sale will not happen without marketing. This is a classic which-came-first-the-chicken-or-the-egg scenario.

A Word of Caution (or When NOT to Fund Your Marketing)
Over the years we have seen many books fail due to lack of funding. That is quite sad. We have also seen many books fail DESPITE having adequate funding. That is just plain horrible. We have met authors who are $20,000, $30,000, even $50,000 or more in debt from producing and trying to sell their book.

If you are in a situation where recouping an investment is critical to your financial security or not selling books will place you in serious financial hardship PLEASE do not invest more than you can afford to spend in your book.

We strongly suggest that you set a limit on your budget that is something you can live with, even if you do not sell a single book. If that amount is low or very low, don’t despair. As you’ve seen, there are plenty of low cost ways you can market your book.

Now, don’t think we are trying to talk you out of marketing your book nothing could be further from the truth we just want to make sure you are proceeding carefully. We do believe you can sell your book and we’ll do whatever we can to help you!

Allocation of Funds How to Prioritize Your Investment
With any investment you want to invest wisely. (Especially for your book.) The last thing you would want to do is waste all the time you spent writing it. So how do you know what is the best use of your valuable time and your hard-earned money?

First of all prioritize your actions based on YOUR goals. You know what is most important to you about your book. Find the tools we’ve suggested that help you reach that goal and do those action items first.

If selling books is your primary goal then be sure to allocate equally in the areas of Awareness and Availability.

Awareness is anything that helps your customers find out your book is out there, such as:publicity, pay per click advertising, search engine, E-zines, reviews, testimonials, etc.

Availability is anything that makes your book available to purchase, such as:bookstores, your website, Amazon, libraries, book clubs, etc.

Don’t expect to pull demand with awareness only. You cannot simply tell people your book exists and expect sales to fall out of the sky. The book has got to be available to purchase - in a store, on a website, at AmazonÅ

Nor can you expect the product to sell itself with availability only. A book sitting on the bookstore shelf when no one knows it is there IS A BOOK ABOUT TO BE RETURNED. A website with no traffic is a site that is not selling any books.

Choose your actions based on creating awareness and facilitating availability. Do both.

Creating Balance in Your Business and Your Home

Creating Balance in Your Business and Home
Terilee Harrison (from Inspired Living Magazine)

As a mom entrepreneur, I understand how easy it is to become overwhelmed by life's demands. I face the same challenges you do and I have found solutions to help you "get a life" as you juggle running a business and raising a family. Schedule in a little "me time" every day. Plan early "me time" before your day gets out of hand. Schedule it in your calendar as if it were a dentist appointment.

For example, after you drop your children off at school, you could schedule work to start at 9 AM to have an hour for reading, meditation, soaking in the tub, exercise or _____ (you fill in the blank). Plan for fluctuations in your schedule-some days you might only have 30 minutes-but you will still have some time to get centered for the day. Of course, moms of younger children may need to wait until someone is taking a nap.

Separate work and home. Keep your work area "strictly business." Eliminate anything that can subconsciously pull you out of the game.

When you have incomplete tasks pending, anything related to the task can be a trigger and distract you. For example, let's say you need to pay a bill, and seeing it immediately brings the unpaid bill to your mind and distracts you. When working at home, create a work zone in your mind. Don't be distracted when you walk past the kitchen and see the unfinished dishes.

Play with your kids. When you are overwhelmed by the demands of life, it doesn't seem productive to be playing hide and seek or to be engaged in doing a puzzle. But most of us started our businesses to have more time with our children. Don't forget to set aside time for fun with them and to enjoy them.

If driving kids to school, be present in the car to them, not thinking about work. Set aside time when they get home from school to visit about their day while they have a quick snack. Then you can work for another hour or so while they finish their homework.

As a mom entrepreneur, you should not be too hard on yourself. Remember, it is impossible to "do it all" well!

Do not pressure yourself to run a successful business, be a great wife and mother, and be Martha Stewart all at the same time. Set your priorities, concentrate on doing the things you do best, and delegate the rest!

Prayer for Insight and Wisdom by Dr. Patricia Bailey-Jones

Prayer for Insight and Vision

Father, You said that eyes have not seen nor ears heard the things that you have prepared for those that love You! Yet You have determined to reveal them to me by Your Spirit. Lord, help me to develop a keen sense of discernment in my life. You said in Your Word that the mature saints develop their senses. Lord, I thank You for insight and revelation in the Spirit. Help me to walk by faith not by sight! Assist me to redirect my faith into unseen realms where things are eternal.

Help me to see with my supernatural eyes where my natural eyes cannot see. Help me to hope against all odds and give me a confidence when there are things that I know are of You. Father, teach how to train my human spirit to become more sensitive to You and Your unctioning. Cause my ears to hear a word to saying, “This is the way, walk ye in it!”

I thank you, Lord, that You are guiding me perpetually and Your calm vision sees what I cannot see. As the Spirit of God searches my mind, I submit to the Holy Spirit’s guidance because He is the Spirit of Truth and He has been given to me as a gift, promise, helper and teacher; He shows me things to come. When I don’t know what to do and what to pray, the Holy Spirit makes groanings that cannot be uttered in articulate speech.

Thank You, Father, for giving me the promise of the Spirit, who helps me when I need Him the most. Lord, help me to rely upon and depend heavily upon the Holy Spirit when I am attempting to do things on my own. Holy Spirit, I welcome You into my life as my ultimate teacher in life. Teach me the ways of the Father, and reveal and expose the deep things of His heart to my heart.

Holy Spirit, teach me to recognize the voice of the Spirit and the way of the Spirit. You, Father, promised me that You would reveal the mysteries of Your will for my life. Every hindering plot of the enemy is exposed and revealed to me through the Holy Spirit. Lord, I thank you that I don’t have to be led about like a horse with a bit in his mouth, because the Spirit of the living God leads me. Thank you, Holy Spirit, for giving me spiritual understanding into the knowledge of God’s ways. Thank You, Lord, that I not only speak, but I comprehend and understand the wisdom of God. Lord, I thank you that the Holy Spirit reveals the hidden wisdom of God that has been hidden from me from the beginning.

Lord, I thank You that for every obscure area of my life, Your wisdom and revelation brings understanding and illumination. I thank You that I don’t have to walk in darkness or confusion because You always light my path through Your Word. Lord, give me vision for my future. You promised me that if I would not lean to my own understanding and if I would allow you to interpret my course, that You would direct my path. Therefore I trust in You, Lord, with all of my heart. I ask You to help me, Holy Spirit, to acknowledge the Lord in all my ways. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.

Scriptures: Joshua 2; Luke 7:36, Exodus 1; Acts 5:29; Matthew 9:20-20

Daily Declaration

I decree that I am a woman of vision; even though my vision is tarrying – I will wait for it. Although I cannot see in the natural the full vision for my life and ministry, I know that my Father has begun a good work in me. This good work in me is for the express purpose of fulfilling the established work of the ministry.

Holy Spirit, I decree that you are my ultimate helper and teacher, and I look to You daily for my guidance. Every time I get a check in my spirit I will yield to Your unctioning. I decree that I have the Spirit of wisdom and revelation operating in my life on a continual basis. The Lord is speaking to me at all times, and I know and hear and follow His voice.

I build myself on my most holy faith by praying in the Holy Ghost. I purpose to develop my sensitivity to the things of the Spirit. I bring my outward man under subjection so that my inward man will increase. I acknowledge my need and dependency upon the Word of God, which is the living instrument that the Holy Spirit agrees with in fulfilling the plan of God for my life.

As I develop insight and wisdom, I will walk in a place of confidence knowing the will of the Lord for my life. I know the hope of my calling and I have spiritual insight into the ways of God continually.
